Lee Health Announces New, Larger Dunbar Medical Office with Expanded Services After Hurricane Ian Destroyed Previous Location

The new, permanent office is set to open in late spring

(Fort Myers, Fla. – Feb. 28, 2023) --- After Hurricane Ian destroyed Lee Community Healthcare’s Dunbar office, Lee Health brought in a mobile unit to continue serving the Dunbar community.

Now, Lee Health is pleased to announce the new permanent location of the Dunbar Medical Office. It will be located in the building that will house the future downtown location of Next Level Church at 3637 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fort Myers.

The office is tentatively scheduled to open in late April or early May. Until it opens, the mobile unit – which is located in the parking lot of the future downtown location of Next Level Church - will continue to see patients, creating a smooth transition for patients in the Dunbar community.

The new location will be much larger than the original one, and will include expanded care. In addition to adult health care services, the new Dunbar Medical Office will also be able to treat children and will offer expanded behavioral health services.

The new Dunbar Medical Office will be located just three blocks from the damaged office and three new providers will join its two longstanding providers, Dr. James Belcher and Linda Mondragon, PA. It will also increase from six exam rooms to 10, and there will be nutrition counseling and pharmaceutical advising available.

It will also be able to offer the Dunbar community new services, such as vision and hearing tests for children.
